Melee Creeps had to fight through Hydration's new team Pulsar Esports, that had their big debut tonight, but it was quick work for them so they could get into some explosive matches against Poppers Pupils in NA DLNS #49.
Game One: Poppers Pupils starts off strong
Hidden King: Melee Creeps, Archmother: Poppers Pupils

Bebop,
Paradox Poppers Pupils charged their way into this game, reminding everyone why they are currently on top. Meanwhile, Melee Creeps wasn't doing themselves any favors with an unconventional draft - not because of what they picked, but more because of what they gave up. MLC prioritized picking
McGinnis for birdee (0-4), which fell into PP's trap card, as they answered with highly mobile, pick, and lockdown heroes such as LOMEIN on
Yamato (9-4) and Poppers on
Calico (4-4). Even with the nerfs to
Apollo yesterday, this was also a part of MLC's roster, where braeden had an unfortunate showing, going 1-5 with only 13k player damage.
The laning phase was fairly standard, but slightly favored PP as they slowly grew their soul lead. MLC swung an over 10k soul lead around the 12 minute mark to close to an even game after taking a couple of PP's objectives, but it simply wasn't enough. Poppers Pupils took advantage of their hero composition, especially Zeno's lassos on
Holliday (9-1), executing their advantage over Melee Creeps, taking this game home in just over 30 minutes.
Game Two: Melee Creeps builds a wall

After a decisive first game loss, Melee Creeps decided to turn game two's draft around by picking up
Mirage for oses (3-4) and JonJon's comfort hero,
Venator (12-4). Due to Poppers Pupils banning both
Billy and
Abrams, MLC was left with Saiah on
Victor (7-7), which worked out in their favor.
Melee Creeps simply outperformed Poppers Pupils in macro. While the soul count remained relatively even for the majority of the match, MLC made some outstanding plays. birdee caught players out with walls on
McGinnis (5-3), finding picks throughout the match with Goober's
Bebop (6-4). A well timed Mid Boss capture at the 16 minute marked turned into a split push on PP's Walkers for a major siege, which propelled an even game into a decisive one for MLC.
Game Three: Melee Creeps make a statement
Hidden King: Poppers Pupils, Archmother: Melee Creeps
Banned:
Mirage,
Billy,
Ivy,
Mina
Melee Creeps statement? We're back. Not only that, but maybe consider banning
Abrams when Saiah (12-1) is against you, or you might have a bad time.
While there were other stars in the match for MLC, such as oses on
Infernus (8-3) who locked down Lefaa's
Pocket (1-8), and crazy hooks landed by Goober on
Bebop (8-4), Saiah took the MVP of the night with his tactical plays and crazy getaways on Abrams, becoming a raid boss for Poppers Pupils.
It got a little sketchy for MLC towards the end, when PP managed to finally picked a kill on Saiah that left him with an over 2 minute death timer. PP took advantage of this shortly after, trading a couple picks with MLC and going Mid Boss in a desperate attempt to flip the game back in their favor. With Saiah back up, he decided to contest it in a 4v5, killing Zeno on
The Doorman (3-6) through his own door with an Abram's ult, claiming all the rejuvs and cleaning up the rest of Poppers Pupils in the stoic play. It was over after that - JonJon on
Venator (10-2) went straight into PP's base, sieging what was left of their patron, and claiming the championship tonight.
