Another week with a new pair of heroes; this time
Violet and
Nurse Harrow debuted in Deadlock Night Shift NA. Team Serious also debuted in this DLNS; however, New Legacy spoiled the party by stomping on our new friends.
Melee Creeps vs New Legacy
Game 1: MLC didn't take the bitter medicine
New Legacy saw the potential of
Nurse Harrow earlier today with Leviathan and decided to give her a shot with adofan11 on the hero. Melee Creeps, on the other hand, decided to go back to the classics and didn’t choose any of the six new heroes.
New Legacy had their moments in the first game, getting some kills and having some interesting fights. However, while they brought all six heroes to the fights, League’s
Wraith was demolishing their walkers. Melee Creeps always had the macro advantage, which resulted in more souls for the team. New Legacy had some good fights, but not good enough to overcome the deficit. When MLC decided to go all six, the game was over.
Game 2: Reject modernity, embrace tradition
Melee Creeps decided to go full classic again in the second game of the finals, while New Legacy got adofan11’s
Nurse Harrow, rocaine’s
Baba, and Parzelion’s
Rat King.
New Legacy had a good idea for the draft, managing to build a composition that could have big teamfights and take pickoffs around the map. However, even when they won the fights, they lost something around the map. MLC now simply has a better understanding of macro and meta gaming. They lost a trade but took a shrine; they lost a fight but took a walker — always taking something. New Legacy deserves credit for being able to build and win good fights. But now, they have a lot of things to improve if they want to close the gap with MLC.
