OT continue their dominance in the APAC region. This time they won the APAC X General Cup #5 in back-to-back fashion. They have won the last three competitions in the region, which includes two APAC General Cups and one APAC Pro League.
Despite the wins, AUSKR are not an easy opponent and came close to snatching victory in all finals, including an astonishing 60-minute game in the last APAC Pro League.
Game 1: OT make a 30k souls comeback
For the first game, both teams went with very distinctive game plans. OT made their draft in a conventional way, thinking about team fights and objectives with big-ult heroes like Adam’s
Billy, Sire’s
Pocket, and bubsdoge’s
Mina. AUSKR had in mind a more pickoff-driven draft with Jai_Stacked (VOTE APOLLO)'s
Bebop, ttv Fragmaz’s
Holliday, and Bischu’s
Calico.
All things were going in AUSKR's favor. OT had no response to their heroes, and the hunting season seemed open. At the 30-minute mark, AUSKR had everything under control. They just needed to keep the ball rolling with their 30k souls lead, take the next mid boss, and close the game. However, OT came for a last fight, and that was what they needed. Led by Adam’s Billy and a 4-man Chain Gang, OT didn't care about the souls deficit and wiped AUSKR. And just like that, OT turned the game around to close it out.
Game 2: AUSKR have problems but escape with victory
In the second game, AUSKR went with a highly sustainable and strong frontline with Bischu's
Billy, Jai_Stacked (VOTE APOLLO)’s
Ivy, and BIRDRING’s
Lady Geist. On the other hand, OT decided on a very mobile draft but without a proper frontline with Elias Lidgren's
Apollo, Adam’s
Calico, and nicoos’s
Viscous.
Like the first game, AUSKR managed to build a huge lead, take the mid boss, and clean the OT base. Once again, AUSKR saw OT bounce back and take the lead. However, this time AUSKR took the last mid boss and, using the rejuvs, escaped with the victory.
Game 3: Billy’s factor
The third and last game started with OT taking Adam’s
Billy one last time and adding bubsdoge’s
Lady Geist, Elias Lidgren's
Silver, and nicoos’s
Rem, building a very tanky and sustainable draft. AUSKR tried to respond with BIRDRING’s
Venator, hong’s
Infernus, and Divine Providence’s
Celeste, putting a lot of damage on the table.
This time OT didn’t break a sweat to win. The greedy and squishy composition from AUSKR didn’t pay off. After the lane phase, they were unable to crack the tankiness of OT, and during the skirmishes and objective team fights, they didn’t have enough to win the trades.
