This Friday morning, we had the first edition of Deadlock Night Shift APAC, opening with the clash between OT and Pig 8. OT had no problem winning the game and advancing to face AUSKR again, this time in a new stage.
AUSKR vs Deadlock Night Shift APAC
Game 1: AUSKR's Big Comeback
For the first game of the finals, AUSKR chose to go with BIRDRING's
Warden - a very controversial pick if we think about NA and EU team compositions. OT, on the other hand, had a very conventional draft with familiar faces like Adam's
Billy, Elias Lidgren's
Shiv, and nicoos'
Solomon.
OT had a very clear game plan: surviving the early game to win the map objectives. AUSKR had a good laning phase, abusing the power of their heroes like Bischu's
Abrams and ttv Fragmaz's
Holliday, but it wasn't good enough. OT followed their plan and started winning the skirmishes around the map, with the Shiv working hard. With a 30k souls lead, OT seemed to have the game. However, AUSKR fought back and, after two huge team fights and a mid-boss in their favor, managed to close the game.
Game 2: Deadlock Night Shift APAC Closes the Game
After an astonishing 30k souls comeback, both teams changed almost their entire composition. Only Bischu's
Abrams for AUSKR and Adam's
Billy for Deadlock Night Shift APAC remained the same.
In the last game, OT had a large souls lead, with Elias Lidgren's
Shiv dominating, and saw the game slip through their hands. In the second game, OT had a large souls lead, with Adam's
Billy dominating, and saw the game slip through their hands. However, this time they managed to stay in the game and recover. bubsdoge's
Wraith and
Billy for Deadlock Night Shift APAC led the way back and finally closed the game.
Game 3: The Kings of the Mid-Boss
Two games were played and two electric games were delivered - the third couldn't be much different. AUSKR bet again on controversial picks like Faxfox's
Warden and Disco Virtuoso's
Lash, both very unpopular in the NA and EU regions. OT, on the other hand, tried a bulky snowball composition with Elias Lidgren's
Shiv, Adam's
Abrams, and bubsdoge's
Venator.
AUSKR started very slowly again, like in the first two games. OT built a good lead from the beginning, and the mid-boss was supposed to be the last piece of their game plan. However, AUSKR started the engines, won the decisive mid-boss fight, and from there built their momentum. They didn't drop a single kill after the 21-minute mark, claiming every objective they wanted. After much struggling from OT, AUSKR closed the game and claimed the first DLNS APAC title.
APAC region
The APAC region may not have the best players like the EU or NA, but it has very fun and entertaining events. While NA has just one team winning everything and the EU has a pragmatic style of gameplay, the APAC event stands out for having a lot of skirmishes and big team fights all the time. OT and AUSKR are the main teams in the region, and all their clashes are extremely even, delivering long and busy games. They even had a 60-minute game in the APAC Pro League Season 8.
