Abrahams survived against Kastalia in the qualifiers but fell badly to Leviathan in the Challenger match, extending their dominance and widening the gap between the two teams.
Buff Enjoyers vs Leviathan
Game 1: Dimov Makes the First Move
The first game of the finals marked
Solomon’s debut in Deadlock Night Shift EU. Dimov had the pleasure of being the first player to use the hero, and he did very well. Buff Enjoyers tried to respond by picking
Rat King, who has a powerful area control ultimate.
Leviathan may be the best team in the early game right now, and this game was no exception. They played a very straightforward game, building items to enable early aggression and map pressure. Buff Enjoyers tried to field a very tanky composition with Zerggy's
Rat King and Lystic
Abrams. However, they couldn’t stop the death ball that Leviathan built.
Game 2: Check for Buff Enjoyers
In the second game, Buff Enjoyers got the chance to play
Solomon. They went with a double-barrier composition featuring obikym's
Solomon and hoot's
Paige, enabling dives for cosmetical's
Shiv. Leviathan, on the other hand, chose a pick-off lineup with
Holliday,
Mo & Krill, and
Bebop.
Leviathan managed to get good lanes and even took an early lead. However, the game became unplayable for them. Buff Enjoyers’ double barriers nullified the ideas behind Leviathan’s draft. Leviathan’s last breath came around the 20-minute mark, when they killed obikym's
Solomon and vraic's
Paradox. After that, Buff Enjoyers didn’t die a single time, forcing a third and final game.
Game 3: Greedy Is Good for Buff Enjoyers
For the last game of the night, Buff Enjoyers picked
Solomon again to maintain the hero’s perfect win rate. They also chose to go very greedy with cosmetical's
Venator, hoot's
Mirage, and Zerggy's
Wraith, a trio that relies heavily on farming but has almost unlimited gun damage. Leviathan, meanwhile, decided to go against the grain with a very strong early-game composition, knowing they would be racing against the clock.
The game started in Leviathan’s favor, with overseas'
Yamato and ABL's
Grey Talon getting kills around the map and building a strong early lead. However, vraic’s lassos dragged Buff Enjoyers back into the game. He found a lot of success picking off key Leviathan players, such as Grey Talon and Irezumi's
Paige, and taking them out before fights could begin. Slowly but surely, Buff Enjoyers came back into the game. obikym's
Solomon was decisive in the mid-boss fights, turning the pit into a living hell. Zerggy, on the other hand, played smartly, split-pushing whenever he could. He single-handedly demolished Leviathan’s base while Obykim fought them at the mid-boss. In the end, Buff Enjoyers’ superior scaling potential overcame Leviathan’s strong early-game snowball.
To win against Buff Enjoyers you can't make mistakes and they states this one more time this week. Leviathan may have a very strong early game, but they seems to lack the discipline to win in the crucials moments like the mid boss.
