Floormen take down the Night Shift title 2-1, ending Melee Creeps' historic unbeaten run with a statement victory built on chemistry and clutch performances.

Floormen finally broke through.

Floormen took down Melee Creeps 2-1 in Week 30 of Deadlock Night Shift NA, ending Melee Creeps’ 18-week Night Shift winning streak and delivering one of the biggest results the event has seen in a long time.

After the match, DMB joked with the broadcast about “taking down the giant,” but the more telling part of the answer was what came next: team chemistry and sticking together. That looked true all series. Floormen were sharp, connected, and ready for the moment.

This was not just Melee Creeps slipping. Floormen earned it.

Map 1: Floormen came out ready

The opener was the clearest statement of the night.

League’s McGinnis drew plenty of attention, but Floormen never looked dependent on one pick. The whole map felt controlled from their side, and once they got ahead, they did not give Melee Creeps much room to breathe.

rocker had a huge game on Celeste, finishing 8-0-12 and helping power Floormen to a 32-9 kill advantage. The match was marred by Eido internet issues that disconnected early on. He was finally able to join but he and the team never really recovered.

Map 2: Melee Creeps pushed back, but Floormen held up

Game 2 was the most competitive map of the set and probably the best one from a pure viewing standpoint.

The souls lead changed hands six times, which is unusually volatile for a pro match and a good reflection of how tight the game was. Melee Creeps responded the way top teams usually do after getting hit early. They settled in, fought back, and made Floormen earn every inch.

That was important for Floormen too. It would have been easy to let the series flatten out after Melee Creeps punched back, but they stayed with it and kept the game under pressure the whole way. Even in a loss, they looked composed.

Melee Creeps eventually took the map 33-30 in kills and forced a third game.

Map 3: Floormen finished it

Floormen got McGinnis again, and League once again made the pick matter, but this map was bigger than any one hero. Floormen looked better everywhere. They won fights cleanly, kept control of the map, and never gave Melee Creeps a path back into the game.

League finished 8-1-17 on McGinnis, while Goober put up a monster game on Silver and earned MVP honors with a 29.00 KDA. The final kill score, 35-5, says the rest.

Why Floormen won

The easy story is that Melee Creeps finally lost. The better story is that Floormen were ready when the chance came.

They had strong play across the roster, they handled pressure well, and they looked like a team that trusted each other. That chemistry showed up in the way they played around League’s McGinnis, in how they responded after losing a tight second map, and in how completely they owned the third.

Zeno’s Ivy also deserves mention here. The stat line will not be the first thing people look at, but 52 assists across three maps and only 7 deaths is exactly the kind of series that reflects a team working together well.

Where we go from here

Melee Creeps’ 18-week run deserves respect. Streaks like that do not happen by accident, and ending it is a real accomplishment. The writing had been on the wall for the past few weeks after the loss to Birds with Clock at the first Freakfest event.

But this result should put the spotlight on Floormen, not just on the streak ending. They were the better team and consistently felt like Melee Creeps was having to ban out Floormen heroes because they are too good such as Goober on Viscous or League on McGinnis. Melee Creeps use to have this with JonJon and Saiah, they've lost that "we must ban heroes" fear.

The wider Night Shift picture also just got more interesting. Hydra Nation has again avoided an invite. Now that Melee Creeps finally dropping a series, the conversation about who needs to be in next week’s field is only going to get louder. Could we see a Hydra Nation vs Melee Creeps qualifier Bo1? That would be high drama.

For now, though, this result belongs to Floormen. After a long climb, they finally have the win that proves they belong at the very top.
