Melee Creeps Reclaim Night Shift Crown in Thrilling Finals Victory

NewsMidway1 hour ago

After losing their 18-week stranglehold on Night Shift last week, Melee Creeps stormed back to defeat Floormen 2-1 in the finals of Night Shift #31, reasserting their dominance over North American Deadlock.

Melee Creeps took the long way back to the top on Night Shift #31, but they got there. After completing the comeback against FPS Lounge (the former Hydra Nation) in the challenger match, Melee Creeps followed it up by beating Floormen in the #31 finals, 2–1, to reclaim the title. It also puts them right back in the seat they held for 18 straight weeks dating back to August 13, 2025, a streak Floormen finally snapped last week. Tonight, Melee Creeps took it right back.

JonJon set the tone all series

Map 1

If you’re looking for the constant across three games, it was JonJon. He finished the finals with a series-leading 5.70 KDA on 28/10/29, and his Venator was the look Floormen never fully solved. He opened the match with 12 kills in Map 1, and even when the series got pushed to a third map, he stayed productive and present in every important stretch.

Floormen force it to three

Map 2

Floormen didn’t roll over after dropping Game 1. They answered back in Game 2 behind rocker’s Celeste, a clean 9/3/9 (6.00 KDA) performance that swung the series back to even. It wasn’t just about one pop-off either, it was the kind of map where Floormen looked organized again and made Melee Creeps actually earn the finish.

Map 3 was Melee Creeps at full speed

With the title on the line, Melee Creeps’ third map was their sharpest. They closed the decider in just under 29 minutes with a 35–15 kill line, and it was fishcake who owned the moment. On Graves he put up 8/1/14 for a 22.00 KDA, earned MVP, and the map never really slipped once Melee Creeps got control.

It also wasn’t a one-player win. eidorian posted 7/3/18 on Calico, dew added 5/2/12 on Apollo, and Scout chipped in 6/4/18 on Dynamo. That’s the version of Melee Creeps that built the streak in the first place: multiple threats, clean fights, and no obvious weak point to press.

Night Shift #31 also marked the debut of FPS Lounge under the FPS Lounge banner after the Hydra Nation rebrand. Their first Night Shift appearance ran straight into Melee Creeps in series 298, and Melee Creeps came out the other side. Saiah on Ivy was the headliner in that match with an 8/1/23 line, good for a 31.00 KDA.

What it means

Last week looked like a changing of the guard in North America. This week looked like Melee Creeps refusing to let that happen. They beat the new-look FPS Lounge in a high-pressure challenger match, then took a 2–1 finals over the team that ended their historic run, and they walk out of Night Shift #31 holding the title again. If there was any doubt about who the standard is in North America right now, Melee Creeps made their case in one night.
