While New Legacy was playing the challenger's match against Pulsar Esports, Melee Creeps were biding their time and refining their strategies for tonight to secure their win with
Rat King.
Game 1: Rats, rats, we're the rats...
Melee Creeps dominated this game, utilizing JonJon on
Rat King, playing him as a tanky frontliner like how you would play
Lady Geist or
Warden. Zeno also had a phenominal game on
Yamato, controlling the map and not giving New Legacy a single inch.
Even though MLC gave up rejuvenators once this game, they flipped the exchange back around, punished NL for taking it, and sailed this game into the distance as they won in a quick 28 minutes.
Game 2: If you rule Ratannia, you rule DLNS
New Legacy didn't learn their lesson. Despite Melee Creeps not picking
Rem in the first match, they decided to first ban him, and pick up
Venator. This allowed MLC to pick up both
Yamato and
Rat King once again, which led to the same outcome - MLC winning in under 30 minutes. While Zeno was going 10-0 on
Yamato, eidorian was going 0-11 on
Paradox.
LOMEIN had a high damage game on
Holliday, a hero notorious for falling off the longer the game goes on, but clearly that wasn't a concern for Melee Creeps tonight.
I believe there is a lesson to be learned in this series. Study what other teams are doing, especially your opponent and who they specialize in, and be adaptable. Don't try and make the square block fit in a round hole, sometimes the solution might be simpler than you think.
I do believe a team will rise up to challenge Melee Creeps, it's just a matter of the right talent coming together and spending their time wisely while putting their energy in the right areas. But for now, it seems like Melee Creeps might be on their way to another 18 win streak unless the rest of NA can put on their big boy pants so to speak, and get their act together.
