$10,000 Sunday set for R1 Tourney, Lowkey W leads the way

The final day is ahead for the R1 Tourney as we have reached the championship day after 5 days of group and bracket play.

Lowkey W sit one win from the R1 Tourney title after tearing through Saturday's Bracket without dropping a single map. They took down Abrahams 2-0 in the Winners Final, pushing their tournament record to 6-0 in series. Across the entire event including groups and bracket play they've lost just one map. That's a 12-1 map record heading into Sunday's Grand Final, where they'll be waiting the Losers Bracket Finals.

Abrahams aren't done yet, though. They opened bracket play by sweeping Leviathan 2-0, then ran headfirst into Lowkey W and got swept right back. That drops them into tomorrow's Lower Bracket Finals, which features a best-of-three against Leviathan, who clawed their way through an elimination match against Fearless Furies to stay alive after losing the first map to Fearless Furies. Leviathan versus Fearless Furies series went the distance, with Leviathan dropping game one before rallying to take the next two.

Sunday's road

The picture for tomorrow is pretty straightforward. Leviathan vs. Abrahams kicks things off, and the loser goes home. Abrahams come in at 5-2 in series across the tournament, while Leviathan sit at 4-3. Whoever wins gets a crack at Lowkey W in a best-of-five Grand Final. That's the catch: even if Abrahams or Leviathan make it through, they'll need to win three maps against a team that has barely given up one all tournament. Lowkey W have already beaten Abrahams twice, once in groups (2-1) and again in the Winners Final (2-0). Lowkey W also defeated Leviathan 2-0 during the Group Stage as well.

The question isn't really whether Lowkey W are the favorites. They obviously are. It's whether anyone left in the bracket can figure out what nobody else has managed so far: how to consistently win maps against them. Lowkey W's current form is very impressive and gives them a huge edge towards taking down the $5,000 first place prize.
