Evil Cake Army went 4-0 during the tournament while continuing his esports journey
Former Floormen player Goober showed up with a new stack this weekend, and it paid off immediately.
Goober’s newly formed EvilCakeArmy won the local Freakfest event, closing out Div Diyu 2-0 in the final after a clean run through the bracket. EvilCakeArmy opened with a 1-0 win over The Mafia, followed it with another 1-0 result against Perky Bullets, then took down Ice Picks 2-0 in the semifinals before sweeping the championship match.
The roster featured spooky, arkhram, blur, calc, goober, and cikp. They were one of the strongest teams in the field from the start. While Freakfest was a smaller local event rather than a major tournament, it still gave Goober an early result with his new lineup. arkhram is Diego "Arkhram" Lima, the retired Fortnite pro who spent three years with 100 Thieves, won three consecutive FNCS titles, and placed fifth at the 2019 World Cup Duos for a $450,000 payday. He stepped away from Fortnite in August 2022 and landed in Deadlock. Freakfest is his first tournament win in the game.
Div Diyu had a strong run of its own before falling in the final. Their path included wins over guplock, O'Yara, and Sinner 6, making them one of the standout teams of the bracket even without finishing the job.
Other teams in the event included Ice Picks, Team Evictix, Olympus, Spirit Urn There, Perky Bullets, The Quebecers, The Mafia, and CC you later, among others, giving the tournament a solid mix of known community names and newer stacks.
The main story, though, was Goober. After making his name with Floormen, he brought a new team into Freakfest and walked away with the title.
